Mary, Queen of Peace Parish was founded in 1988 under the
leadership of their first pastor, Rev. William O'Donnell.
Originally, masses were held at Rouquette Lodge. As the
parish grew, the church was moved to a shopping center
on Highway 22. At this time, DonahueFavret Contractors
was contracted to build the permanent facility. The project
consisted of a pre-engineered building with brick and storefront
exterior and interior drywall partitions. The beautiful
sanctuary features cathedral ceilings and all clear finished
oak millwork. The $2,200,000 contract covered 16,400 square
feet and was completed in 270 days. In January, 1996, the
new church facility was dedicated. It included the Worship
Center, as well as a number of administration offices which
are used for a wide array of parish meetings, and religious
education classrooms for over 800 children who attend CCD.
Mary, Queen of Peace currently serves 1,500 families and
is continually developing new programs and ministries.
The entire site was developed for future structures and
is fully paved and landscaped.
