More than 80% of all surgeries today are conducted on an
outpatient basis. State of the art facilities such as the
Ambulatory Care Center in Covington, Louisiana, are designed
to make patient preparation, operation and recovery as
cost effective and personalized as possible. DonahueFavret
Contractors was contracted to construct this single story
structure with a large porte cochere and attractive 22
foot high glassed-in lobby. The $2,078,000 project was
added to an existing adjacent site housing an MRI facility,
and encompasses 14,040 square feet. It is a structural
steel, metal stud structure with an EIFS exterior. The
interior includes four operating rooms, X-Ray facilities
and endoscopic diagnostic and exam rooms. The major portion
houses the nurses station, recovery, pre-op and pain recovery
areas, as well as a pain procedure section. There is a
large administration area, including lounge and locker
rooms. The parking area for both facilities includes 49,000
square feet of paving along with sewer, water and electrical
service available for future development. The project was
completed in 180 days.
