Whitney National Bank was founded in 1883 and is today the
fourth largest bank in Louisiana with capital assets of $4.2
billion. Over one hundred branches cover a territory that
extends from Lafayette, Louisiana to Pensacola, Florida.
With statistics showing consistent growth in the last six
years, Whitney began rapid expansion of many new branches
to keep up with demand. Three of these branches were contracted
with DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc.
The Metairie and Gretna branches are similar in style and
square footage. They are both one story light steel structure
and wood framed buildings with wood roof trusses, pile supported
foundations and fiberglass shingle roofs. The exteriors are
brick masonry with synthetic plaster. The interiors are accented
with vaulted ceilings in the lobby, wooden doors and frames,
extensive millwork and exquisite porcelain floor tiles. Each
branch has four lane drive-thrus and drive up ATMs. Total
square footage under beam is 5,600 per branch, with another
32,000 square feet each of reinforced concrete paving, encompassing
parking and driveways with subsurface drainage.
On the Northshore, the handsomely designed Covington branch
is a combination of light steel structural frame, wood frame
and wood trusses. The exterior finish is brick veneer, with
an exterior insulating finish system and fiberglass shingle
roof. The stunning interior design of the lobby boasts gleaming
polished tile floors, extensive custom millwork and coffered
ceilings. There are also four drive up lanes and a drive
up ATM. DFC is proud to continue their professional relationship
with Whitney, and to be an integral part of the banking industry
of our state.
